Cooma FC & Brindabella Blues FC Launch New NPL Partnership Tigers FC

Over the years Brindabella Blues Football Club (a community based club) have been developing quality players who needed to leave the club to progress their football at the elite youth level. These players end up going to another club who have a Premier League stream.

The Premier League (PL) is a Capital Football division, it is the highest competition offered in men’s football in the ACT. It showcases the elite players in Canberra and the surrounding region in a highly competitive nine-team round-robin competition

To allow these kids to have a pathway and to remain part of the BBFC community the committee have agreed to partner with Cooma Football Club, who are a men’s Premier League club to form Tigers FC.  Both clubs Cooma FC & Brindabella Blues FC remain as is,  this is not a merger of clubs but a partnership in Premier League Tigers FC. Teams will be open to all BBFC & Cooma FC existing and returning players & coaches and open to any other interested players who meet grading requirements.

BBFC now has an Agreement in place which allows the following:

  • Youth PL U12, U14 &, U16 will be administered by BBFC with Youth training and Saturday home games based at Calwell
  • Youth PL BBFC reserve players will continue to play in BBFC teams in the Junior League competition
  • Senior PL U18, U20 & First Grade Tigers FC will be administered by Cooma FC with training in Canberra
  • All teams will be known as Tigers FC & will have distinctive Premier League uniforms based on Cooma FC & BBFC colours

Note: Tigers FC is part of the men’s Premier League (MPL) completion,  there is a separate women’s Premier League (WPL) but this Agreement does not include WPL at this time. However,  women can play in all MPL age groups similar to ‘open’ junior league teams.

This is  fantastic opportunity for BBFC players, coaches and parents and will allow our elite players to remain part of the BBFC community.
